Well, our weekend in the windy city of Chicago was not nearly long enough! We had delicious food, met some great people, and found some wonderful new products. But even after roughly seven hours a day, for three days in a row, perusing the booths of over 800 vendors at the Total Pet Expo, we still feel we may have missed some things!
It’s always so interesting to cruise the aisles, endless in their colorful displays of everything from freeze-dried green beans to alpaca wool doggie sweaters, only to turn around and find something that you didn’t see while walking through just an hour before. Some vendors tell you what they’re trained to tell you, always ready to make a sale. Some are truly passionate about their products and want to make you believe in them as much as they do. We can always tell which is which. A few lucky vendors have the luxury of just sitting back and letting their products sell themselves.
We took home a little bit of everything; a stroller filled with samples, price lists, and order forms, our heads filled with all that we learned from the educational seminars, and our hearts filled with excitement as we try to decide what new treats to introduce, which Christmas toys are the cutest, and what styles of collars and leashes we think you might love the most.
So start keeping a lookout for lots of new items to be available at Dog Day Afternoon between now and the holidays. We couldn’t be happier about keeping our selection innovative and fresh for your pets, and we’re not gonna lie, we have a lot of fun doing it!
